Not included: connection, cooling, power-supply losses, downtime and maintenance. Water cooling adds the loop itself, hosting adds the slot fee. Network difficulty rises over the long run, which lowers earnings at the same hashrate; the payback figure uses today's values and is therefore on the optimistic side.

The S19 XP comes from the previous generation and is priced accordingly. 21.3 J/TH is a lot by today's standards, but the purchase price is a fraction of a current machine. That shifts the whole calculation: the unit is paid off quickly, but it is the first to drop out of profit as network difficulty rises. Bought second-hand and run on very cheap power it can make sense. As a new purchase on a household tariff it does not.
