Mining Lab · Miners · Saudi Arabia
Household electricity in Saudi Arabia costs 4.8 cents per kilowatt-hour. That is rank 1 of 69 in Europe. What it means for a mining machine is below.
At 4.8 cents, 116 of the 126 machines pay off. That puts Saudi Arabia among the few countries in Europe where mining works at all on an ordinary meter. The business tariff of 5.1 cents looks different: there, 116 machines pay off.

This figure is the pure electricity input needed to earn one whole bitcoin through the network, calculated with the most efficient machine in the comparison and the tariff above. Hardware, cooling, staff and downtime are not in it. If it sits above the bitcoin price, mining costs more than the result is worth.
Within Europe more than forty cents separate the cheapest household tariff from the dearest. That decides profit and loss far more sharply than any choice of machine. The neighbours by price:
| Electricity price | Household tariff | Business tariff | Rank in Europe |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | 4.8 ct | 5.1 ct | 1 |
| Kazakhstan | 5.4 ct | 5.9 ct | 2 |
| Paraguay | 5.5 ct | 5.1 ct | 3 |
| Malaysia | 5.6 ct | 6.3 ct | 4 |
